Pr. MOUELLE KOMBI Narcisse, Minister of Sports and Physical Education, President of COCAN 20-21.

Under the very high impetus of the President of the Republic, His Excellency Paul BIYA, materialized through Decree No. 2019-295 of June 4, 2019, on the creation, organization, and functioning of the Local Organizing Committee of the African Nations Football Championship “CHAN TOTAL 2020” and the African Cup of Nations Football “CAN TOTAL 2021”, Cameroon is at the forefront of the preparations for these competitions in general, specifically and in the short term, the CHAN 2020.

Under the coordination of the Prime Minister, Head of Government, Chief Doctor Joseph DION NGUTE, the organization of the 6th edition of the African Nations Football Championship in our country is a national cause that calls on all stakeholders. The challenge of ensuring the success of these important sporting events is a constant concern.

The setting up of the organizational device and the finalization of all the infrastructures required in the specifications of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) constitute the current concern.

Thus, all the sectoral administrations are mobilized to ensure that the infrastructures under construction or in rehabilitation in their respective sectors of competence will be in conformity with the requirements of the specifications of the CAF during these large-scale competitions.

Now that the 16 Nations that will take part in the CHAN 2020 are known, it is up to COCAN 20-21 to put itself resolutely and intensely to the task in order to ensure the good organization of this prestigious event. Indeed, from the airport, we must welcome not only the teams, the officials and special guests of CAF, the technical officials, but also the enthusiastic crowds of supporters. COCAN 20-21 is determined to offer to all its guests, the most pleasant stay in Cameroon, a land of hospitality and unity in diversity.

Communication plays a central role in the organization. Thus, in deciding to design and put online the COCAN 20-21 website which is part of its digital communication strategy, the Organizing Committee aims to allow all stakeholders, through its many sections, to access information on Cameroon, the host country, as well as on the preparations of the competition. The main objective is to ensure the visibility of the 6th edition of CHAN that our country hosted in 2020.
