The Comoros, one leg out after the first two Group C games, made history with a spectacular show of resilience, to hold Ghana in a 3-2 defeat. Comoros lost 1-0 to Gabon and 2-0 to Morocco only to stand up to Ghana the end of an emotion-packed encounter at the Roumde Adjia Stadium in Garoua, the Northern region of Cameroon.

With plenty of encouragement from their president, though not present in the stadium, Coromos put on a spectacular performance, scoring four minutes into the game.

A collision led to an injury as goalkeeper Ben Boina had to be stretched out and substituted. A red card sent Andre Ayew off the turf, leaving Ghana without their kingpin.

A goal from Ben El Fardou and two from Ahmed Mogni did the trick for Comoros, while the two from Ghana were not enough to give Ghana the win needed to proceed to the next round.

Ranked 134, far behind the five-time AFCON finalist, Coromos, with lots of encouragement from their president, though not in the stadium, a spectacular play that warmed the hearts of many spectators.

The football powerhouse, four-time winner of the Africa Cup of Nations, has crashed out of the 33rd Africa Cup of Nations, Cameroon 2021, like a pack of cards.

The Black Stars are among the first nations to pack their bags at the group stage while other teams are waiting for calculations to know their faith.

Ghana goes home, leaving a bad image of an arrogant team with no respect for fair play and a team that lacks discipline.

Comoros is now eying the statistics and calculations as they are likely to proceed to the next round as one of the best three teams from the group stage.
